The Scoop
Charlie isn’t a polished politician — he’s something better.
An 11-year-old rescue dog with a gentle soul, a funny walk, and a lifetime of showing up for people when they need comfort most.
Charlie joined his family during the hardest times imaginable: the week after they tragically lost their 16-year-old son. At the shelter, he was a tiny, terrified puppy labeled only as a “Border Collie Mix,” shaking quietly in the corner while larger dogs barked around him.
But even then, Charlie’s heart stood out.
His family realized they needed him just as much as he needed them — and from that day on, Charlie became a source of healing, hope, and unconditional love.

Unique qualities
Charlie has never let life’s challenges slow him down. Born with a deformity in his back knees, he walks a little funny — but Charlie proves every single day that differences are not weaknesses. They’re part of what makes someone special.
And despite his physical disability, Charlie’s favorite thing in the world is people.
He loves human attention, welcomes everyone like an old friend, and has become a familiar face at Children’s House, where he happily greets every family who walks through the door.
Fun Fact: Charlie identifies as a Border Collie but according to a DNA test, he has 0% Border Collie! Can you guess his breed?
