The Scoop

Bea is a 9-year-old boxer/greyhound mix who has called Orcas Island home since 2021. After losing both her eyes in 2023, she hasn’t slowed down one bit. Bea still loves to run, chase turkeys, and soak up pets from all her island friends. She’s a happy, loving soul who proves every day that heart matters more than sight

Unique Qualities

Bea leads with something rare: pure heart. After losing her sight in 2023, she didn’t slow down, complain, or withdraw. She adapted. She trusts. She keeps moving forward with joy.

She knows the island not by how it looks, but by how it feels. The paths under her paws, the people in her circle, the rhythm of Eastsound life. She listens first, greets everyone as a friend, and builds connection everywhere she goes.

Bea is resilient, optimistic, and deeply community-driven. She reminds us that leadership isn’t about seeing everything… it’s about caring for everyone.

And if we’re being honest, she’s already doing the job: bringing people together, spreading joy, and keeping a close watch on the local turkey population.
